Due to a surge in use of data services, India's mobile services market will grow 4% to $21.4 billion in 2015, as per research firm Mobile connections in the country will increase to 880 million in 2015, a growth of 5 % from 837 million connections in 2014, reported the Economic Times.

Data services will grow 15% to $6.5 million 2015, propelled by increasing use of cellular services on data devices such as tablets, notebooks, cellular modems or USB sticks, it said.
"Mobile data provides a substantial revenue opportunity in India. Communication service providers (CSPs) will need to focus on creating new pricing, with a focus on data access, such as shared plans. They will also need to refine the services they already provide, with a focus on creating richer, more immersive and more personalized experiences, to increase their customer numbers," said Neha Gupta, senior research analyst at Gartner, said in statement.

Gartner added that winners in the CSP-space will be those who satisfy consumers' demand for high data use, while maintaining their margins.
