Tecno Phantom 9 brings triple cameras, premium features to budget price ranges

Chinese smartphone maker Tecno is all set to unveil its latest latest budget smartphone in India. The Tecno Phantom 9 is a new budget smartphone that packs in premium features like a triple camera setup, an in-display fingerprint sensor and an AMOLED display at budget segment prices. The Phantom 9 is priced around the Redmi Note 7 Pro and is aggressively looking at targeting devices in this price segment.

The Tecno Phantom 9 price in India is Rs 14,999 for the sole 6GB variant. It comes in a shade of blue, called the Lapland Aurora. The device will go on sale on Flipkart from 17 July. To shore up launch sales, Tecno is offering a one-time screen replacement offer for six months, a 100-days free replacement and an extended warranty of one month, over the standard one year..

Tecno Phantom 9 specifications

The Tecno Phantom 9 sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch on the top. The device also has an in-display fingerprint sensor, a premium feature and this should help the phone distinguish itself from other options in this price segment.

The Tecno Phantom 9 is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 chipset, which is one of the reasons that Tecno could price the Phantom 9 so aggressively. This chipset is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.

Running on Android 9.0 Pie with a HiOS 5.0 custom skin on top, the Tecno Phantom 9 sports a triple camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary camera, 8-megapixel secondary camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The rear cameras are assisted by a quad LED flash for low-light imaging. On the front, it has a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

Other features of the Tecno Phantom 9 include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and a 3,500mAh battery.
